Established in 2007, JaRco Consulting is a research and advisory firm specializing in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL), research, and data collection for development and humanitarian programs. Headquartered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with an office in the Washington, D.C. area, JaRco combines local knowledge with international expertise to generate high-quality evidence that informs strategic, programmatic, and investment decisions across Ethiopia and Sub-Saharan Africa.

What We Do

• Large-Scale Surveys: Coordinate and administer socioeconomic, baseline, and endline surveys across diverse sectors.

• Personnel & Headquarters: An Addis Ababa central office supporting more than 160 national and international staff, equipped with backup power systems, high-speed internet, and dedicated in-house data servers.
• Field Assets: Fleet of over 600 digital data-collection tablets, 100 GPS units, and dedicated 4x4 Land Cruisers driven by experienced field operators for remote access.
• Demonstrated Scale: Proven track record managing complex nationwide studies, including a UNICEF survey covering 11,000 households and 480 qualitative interviews across 480 kebeles, as well as a youth survey encompassing approximately 21,000 interviews.
• Quality Assurance Protocols: Pre-testing data collection tools, strict translation and back-translation verification, and systematic field supervision with spot checks and back-checks to ensure data integrity.
