Life in all its fullness
Empowering people out of poverty
Rooted in the love of Christ
The organization began in 1947 when founder Bob Pierce gave his last $5 to a missionary orphanage to care for an abandoned Chinese girl. Over its long history, World Vision has consistently traveled to regions and taken on challenges others would not, including purchasing a ship in 1979 to rescue refugee families stranded at sea off the coast of Vietnam. Today, the organization continues to focus its operations where it is hardest to be a child, ensuring that resources reach those who need them most.
World Vision works directly with the most vulnerable children across the globe to help them experience an environment where they can realize their true potential. Through collective global efforts, the organization aims to build sustainable support systems that provide safety, development, and a higher quality of life for families and entire communities.
