This led to CIFA Kenya (established in 2000) to facilitate the establishments of cross border initiatives in 2004/05. Through these initiatives, CIFA gained recognition from the Ethiopian communities and authorities and in 2005 this led to the setting up and registration of CIFA Ethiopia as a National NGO and re-registered again on April 11, 2016 with the Federal Charities and Societies Agency via certificate number 1012.
