Job Description


World Vision is seeking a visionary leader to manage and provide strategic direction for all World Vision interventions—including Sponsorship, Private Non-Sponsorship (PNS), and Grants—within a defined Area Program (AP). The role focuses on community transformation, program quality, financial accountability, child protection, and ensuring sustainable improvements in child well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management for integrated development, emergency, and advocacy projects in line with organizational policies and donor regulations.
  • Ensure program implementation adheres to Detailed Implementation Plans (DIP), ensuring annual spending stays within the 95% to 100% target range.
  • Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual project reports and manage program budgets effectively.
  • Enforce sponsorship operation standards (SOP), child protection policies, and ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) remain at target levels.
  • Facilitate community empowerment, transformative worldview development, and the integration of disaster preparedness and transition plans.
  • Address and implement audit and evaluation recommendations promptly, ensuring efficient resource utilization and risk minimization.

Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements

  • Education: BA or BSc Degree in Development Studies, Economics, or Social Sciences (an advanced Master’s degree in a related development field is preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in designing, planning, implementing, supervising, and reporting on integrated development, emergency, and advocacy projects, including at least 5 years of experience managing complex grants and large multi-year programs.

  • Core Competencies: Brief management, visionary leadership, community development, supervision, digital technology utilization, and innovative contextualization of development models.
  • Core Skill Tags: Strategic planning, program management, financial accountability, child protection, and stakeholder communication.
