Job Description


Income-Generating Activities (IGA) Manager

The Income-Generating Activities (IGA) Manager provides strategic leadership and comprehensive management for PAD’s profit-generating business operations. Operating from the Addis Ababa head office, the role drives commercial growth, profitability, and operational efficiency, managing the enterprise as a market-oriented business that generates sustainable unrestricted income to support PAD's long-term institutional financial resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Business Growth: Develop and implement annual business plans, growth strategies, and revenue targets, identifying profitable commercial opportunities and conducting ongoing market research.
  • Financial Management & Profitability: Manage budgets, cash flows, and operating costs, maintaining rigorous financial oversight and ensuring all income and expenditures are accurately accounted for and compliant with organizational standards.
  • Operations, Procurement & Inventory: Establish efficient operating systems for sales, logistics, procurement, and inventory control, safeguarding organizational assets and minimizing stock losses.
  • Sales, Marketing & Partnerships: Drive commercial expansion through effective pricing, digital marketing, customer relationship management, and strong supplier negotiations.
  • Team Leadership & Risk Management: Lead and mentor IGA personnel, enforce robust internal controls, manage commercial and operational risks, and maintain strict compliance with Ethiopian business regulations.

Educational Qualification & Experience Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Business Management, Marketing Management, Management, Accounting and Finance, Development Studies, Agricultural Economics, Entrepreneurship, or a related field (a Master’s degree represents a distinct advantage).
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in establishing profitable business operations and driving growth in competitive markets (female applicants are highly encouraged to apply).

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong entrepreneurial acumen, financial management, budgeting, and cost-control capabilities.
  • Exceptional market analysis, strategic planning, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant financial/business management software, combined with a high level of integrity and commercial awareness.

Required Skill Tags: Experience in nonprofit financial modeling and sustainability planning, excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills, and business administration, management, entrepreneurship

Desired Skill Tags: Risk management & compliance, and data analysis and market trend interpretation
