Job Description


FH Ethiopia is seeking a temporary Payment Assistant & Data Clerk to handle payment processing, petty cash management, financial data entry, and clerical support. The role ensures compliance with internal controls, donor regulations, and statutory requirements while maintaining accurate digital and physical financial records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process payment instruction letters for vendor invoices, partner grants, operational expenses, and staff expense reports.
  • Manage the organization's petty cash fund, execute disbursements, and conduct regular weekly/monthly reconciliations.
  • Accurately code and enter financial transactions into the accounting system and perform daily/monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain a secure, well-organized filing system for payment vouchers, supporting documents, and archive records.
  • Provide administrative support during internal and external audits by preparing requested schedules and retrieving documentation.

Qualifications

  • Education: BA in Accounting, Management, or a related field from a recognized university.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in cash and financial data management.
  • Values: Full agreement with FH’s Christian foundation and Heartbeat values.

Required Skills

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically MS Word and MS Excel), accounting principles, financial data analysis, and document management/archiving software.
  • Core Skill Tags: Archive management, attention to detail, time management, coordination, and communication.
