Education Professional

TEMPORARY (6 Months) | @Save the Children based in Gode

Job Summary

Save the Children is seeking an Education professional for a temporary contract (six months with a possible extension) based in Gode. The role is responsible for coordinating day-to-day education project activities, managing budgets across multiple awards, co-chairing the Education cluster at the sub-national or regional level, and ensuring high-quality, inclusive, and gender-sensitive programming.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day implementation of education project activities, develop detailed implementation plans, and monitor performance against indicators.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching to education staff, teachers, and partners while promoting inclusive and child-friendly approaches.
  • Liaise with government education authorities, participate in education cluster meetings, and represent Save the Children in relevant forums.
  • Support data collection, review project performance data, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and donor reports.
  • Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets, assist in forecasting, and ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Mainstream child safeguarding into all education activities and ensure adherence to SCI policies and Code of Conduct.

Qualifications

  • Education: BA/B.Sc. degree in an area of education or equivalent in development studies (an MSc/MA/MEng level in relevant areas of social development or equivalent is preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years of related work experience in managing humanitarian and/or recovery programs, with experience in multi-location programme management and budgeting.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in both Somali and English (verbal and written) is required.
