JOB SUMMARY

CARE operates 60+ warehouses across 50+ countries. The Warehousing & Inventory Specialist will provide high-level technical support, guidance, and oversight to CARE Country Offices worldwide. The role will strengthen global supply chain capabilities by supporting the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Warehousing & Inventory Management (WIM) systems and standards. Responsibilities include global process validation, system testing and enhancement, troubleshooting, technical capacity building, and leading the development of global WIM policies, procedures, tools, key performance indicators, and guidance materials. The Specialist will also work to ensure global compliance with logistics policies, contribute to audit readiness across countries, and support strategic initiatives that enhance visibility, accuracy, and accountability in inventory management across CARE's global operations.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Support & Guidance

  • Develop and disseminate global WIM policies, procedures, guidelines, templates, checklists, and knowledge resources.
  • Support global and regional logistics communities of practice by facilitating learning sessions, knowledge sharing, and problem-solving forums.
  • Provide expert technical assistance to Country Offices on warehousing and inventory management systems, standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Serve as a global focal point for WIM system-related queries, ensuring timely and effective resolution of technical issues.

Systems Testing & Support

  • Participate in WIM system design and testing.
  • Participate in system configuration, workflow design, and continuous improvement of logistics information systems.
  • Support global data migration processes, including master data creation, data quality checks, and cross-system conversion.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation of the global WIM system design/enhancements.
  • Support coordination of global system roll-outs, including hyper-care and post-deployment support.
  • Monitor system adoption/use metrics and support user adoption initiatives.

Capacity Building & Technical Training

  • Design and deliver training programs on WIM systems, tools, and processes.
  • Develop training modules, user guides, learning videos, and capacity-building materials for Country Offices.
  • Support identification, evaluation, and roll-out of external capacity building resources.
  • Strengthen the capability of WIM focal points through mentorship and targeted technical coaching.

Reporting, Analytics & Continuous Improvement

  • Support the development of global key performance indicators, analytical tools, and WIM dashboards.
  • Analyze global warehousing and inventory data to identify trends, challenges, and optimization opportunities.
  • Contribute to global supply chain transformation initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, accountability, and data visibility.
  • Support users in accessing reporting tools/dashboards, and build a data-use culture.

Compliance, Global Assurance & Audit Support

  • Ensure WIM operations are done in compliance with CARE WIM policies, procedures, donor requirements, local law, and industry best practices.
  • Support Country Offices in preparing for audits by providing system extracts, reviewing documentation, and support implementation of corrective actions.
  • Identify systemic risks and recurring gaps across countries and propose global mitigation measures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in multi-country warehousing and inventory management/logistics roles.
  • Experience supporting Warehouse Management/ERP Systems.
  • Experience in country office humanitarian supply chain operations.
  • Experience in data analytics and visualization.
  • Experience working in culturally diverse, globally dispersed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification in logistics/supply chain management (CIPS, APICS, CSCP, or equivalent).
  • Additional language skills in French, Arabic, or Spanish.
