The Technology, Innovation, Connectivity, and Infrastructure Division (TICID) is led by a director who reports to the Deputy Executive Secretary (Programme). The division is tasked with aiding Member States and African institutions in promoting inclusive growth, sustainable development, and economic transformation in Africa through science, technology, and innovation, enhanced connectivity, and the development of logistics and infrastructure. The Division comprises two sections: Technologies, Innovation and Digital Transformation Section (TIDTS) and Connectivity and Infrastructure Section (CIS).
The position is located in the Connectivity and Infrastructure Section of the Technology, Innovation, Connectivity and Infrastructure Development Division, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The focus of the programme management officer is the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes, operations and other activities in an assigned functional area. The Programme Officer typically reports to the Chief of Connectivity and Infrastructure Section.
Within delegated authority, and under the direct supervision of the Chief of Connectivity and Infrastructure Section, the Programme Officer will be responsible for the following duties:

The appointment against this post will be on a fixed-term basis and does not carry any expectancy, legal or otherwise, of renewal or conversion to any other type of appointment. National Professional Officer category shall be of the nationality of the country where this position is located and will be recruited in the country or within commuting distance of the office.
